Quick summary (not a substitute for the full policy below): We collect the information you give us to run your events — your account details, event content, guest lists, and location if you allow it. We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the service providers that help us operate the app, and with the people you invite. You can access, correct, or delete your information at any time by contacting us.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Aster Studio LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company (“Planify,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with our mobile applications, website, and related services (the “Service”).
The Service is offered only to users in the United States and is not directed to individuals located outside the U.S. It is not intended for children under 13.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide

2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and technical information: device type and model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network, browser type, language settings, and IP address.
- Usage information: features you use, pages and screens viewed, buttons tapped, events created, session duration, timestamps, referring pages, and crash and diagnostic data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: on our website, we use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. In our mobile apps, we may use software development kits (SDKs) that serve similar functions. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality.
2.3 Location Information
With your permission, we collect location information to help you find nearby venues, restaurants, and event locations, and to suggest relevant places.
- Precise location is collected only if you grant location permission on your device. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings, and can choose to grant access only while using the app.
- Approximate location may be inferred from your IP address even if you decline precise location access.
- Turning off location access will limit certain features (such as nearby venue suggestions) but will not prevent you from using the Service.
2.4 Information From Other People
If someone invites you to an event, adds you to a guest list, or imports your contact information, we may receive your name, email address, or phone number even if you do not have a Planify account. We use this information solely to deliver the invitation and manage that event. See Section 9 for how non-users can request removal.
2.5 Information From Third-Party Sources
We may receive information from service providers that support authentication, mapping, fraud prevention, and analytics, and from publicly available sources about venues and businesses.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Provide the Service — creating events, sending invitations, managing guest lists and RSVPs;
- Deliver invitations and notifications you or other users initiate;
- Suggest venues, restaurants, and locations relevant to your event and area;
- Send transactional messages (invitations, reminders, RSVP updates, service announcements);
- Send promotional messages about Planify, where permitted — you can opt out at any time;
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Monitor, analyze, and improve the Service, including debugging and developing new features;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements;
- Create aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you, which we may use and disclose for any lawful purpose, including reporting general audience statistics to prospective advertisers.
4. How We Disclose Information
We disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- To other users. When you create an event or send an invitation, the people you invite can see your name, profile information, event details, and — depending on your settings — other guests on the list. Do not include information in an event that you don’t want invitees to see.
- To service providers. We share information with vendors that perform services for us — including cloud hosting and storage, database services, email and SMS delivery, mapping and location services, analytics, crash reporting, and customer support. They are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Planify, our users, or the public.
- In a business transaction. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
- Aggregated or de-identified information. We may share information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for example, telling a prospective advertiser how many users in a metro area are planning events in a given month.
5. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
6. Advertising (Current and Planned)
We currently do not display third-party advertising in the Service and do not use third-party advertising SDKs or trackers.
In the future, we intend to offer paid placements to venues, restaurants, and other local businesses. If we do:
- Sponsored placements will be clearly identified as advertising where required by law;
- We anticipate serving these placements based on the general area and event context you’re already viewing in the app — not by sharing your personal information with advertisers;
- Before we begin any practice that would qualify as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising, we will update this Policy, provide notice, and offer the opt-out mechanisms required by law — including a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and honoring Global Privacy Control signals.
Advertisers receive reports about ad performance in aggregate. They do not receive your guest lists, event contents, or contact information.
7. Analytics
We use analytics providers to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. These providers may collect device identifiers, usage data, and IP address on our behalf. You can limit some collection through your device’s advertising and privacy settings (for example, “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android).
8. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
8.1 Choices Available to Everyone
- Access and update: review and edit your account and profile information in the app.
- Delete your account: delete your account in the app or by emailing legal@letsplanify.com. We will delete or de-identify your personal information, subject to Section 12.
- Location: turn location permissions on or off in your device settings.
- Contacts: revoke contacts access in your device settings; you can still invite people by entering addresses manually.
- Notifications: manage push notifications in your device settings, and unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in those emails. You cannot opt out of essential transactional messages while you maintain an account.
- Cookies: manage or block cookies through your browser.
8.2 State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as those laws take effect — you may have the right to:
- Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you;
- Obtain a portable copy of your personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling (as noted in Section 5, we do not currently engage in these);
- Not be discriminated or retaliated against for exercising these rights.
How to exercise your rights: email legal@letsplanify.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us which right you wish to exercise. We will verify your request by confirming control of the email address associated with your account, and may request additional information if needed. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by an additional 45 days with notice.
Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with written proof of authorization.
Appeals: if we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to appeals within 45 days (or 60 days where state law allows). If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.
8.3 Global Privacy Control
Our website honors opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.
9. Information About People Who Aren’t Users
If you were added to a guest list or received an invitation and do not have a Planify account, we hold limited information about you — typically a name and email address or phone number provided by the person who invited you.
You may email legal@letsplanify.com to request that we delete your information or stop sending you invitations. Note that the person who invited you retains their own copy of your contact information in their device or records, which we do not control.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact legal@letsplanify.com and we will delete it promptly.
Users between 13 and 18 should use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting infrastructure.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk. Protect your account by using a strong, unique password and notifying us immediately at legal@letsplanify.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
12. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to:
- Comply with legal, tax, or regulatory obligations;
- Resolve disputes or enforce our agreements;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- Maintain routine backups, which are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Content you shared with others (such as an event page visible to invitees) may remain visible to them after you delete your account.
13. Where Information Is Stored
We and our service providers store and process information in the United States. The Service is intended for U.S. users only.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, venue pages, maps, and services. This Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing information.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice by email or in-app notification before the changes take effect. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent.
